The Praxis tests measure the academic skills and subject-specific content knowledge needed for admission into the Secondary Teacher Education Program and is part of the certification process required by many states.
Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) measure reading, writing and mathematics skills. Passing scores are Reading 156, Writing 162, and Mathematics 150.
Praxis Subject Assessments measure knowledge of specific subjects that K–12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills.
