Linking to Articles, eBooks, and Streaming Videos from the Library's Databases: ProQuest

ProQuest Linking Outside of Blackboard

The following instructions are for creating links outside of Blackboard.

   1. Search for the article, open the full record for the item by clicking on the 'Citation/Abstract' link, and scroll down to the 'Indexing (details).' Identify the document URL.  Do not simply copy the URL from the browser's address bar as this is session specific and the article cannot be retraced once the session ends.

   2. Highlight the Document URL and copy and paste it into the desired location.

   3. An example of a ProQuest article URL would look like this:  http://ezproxy.bellevue.edu:80/login?url=http://search.proquest.com/docview/839763177?accountid=28125

   4. Once created, the student will be able to click on the link and be immediately taken to the item, whether an article, video, or database.   They will not need to log-in again in order to access the Library webpage or other resources.

ProQuest Linking in Blackboard

The following instructions are for linking in Blackboard only.

   1. Search for the article, open the full record for the item by clicking on the 'Citation/Abstract' link, and scroll down to the 'Indexing (details).'    2. Highlight the Document URL and copy and paste into Blackboard.

   3. You will need to insert “auth=bb&” into the URL between the “?” and “url” (http://ezproxy.bellevue.edu:80/login?auth=bb&url=) so that students will not be required to log-in as they move between the Blackboard and Library resources.

   4. An example of a ProQuest article URL would look like this:  http://ezproxy.bellevue.edu:80/login?auth=bb&url=http://search.proquest.com/docview/839763177?accountid=28125

   5. Once created, the student will be able to click on the link in Blackboard and be immediately taken to the item, whether an article, video, or database.   They will not need to log-in again in order to access the Library webpage or other resources.
