Abnormal Psychology: Neurodevelopmental Disorders

General guide to abnormal psychology and psychological disorders

Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Neurodevelopmental disorders affect neurological functioning and development in a variety of ways. They normally begin in childhood, but may not be diagnosed until later in life. This category of disorders includes autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), communication disorders, specific learning disorders (such as dyslexia), and intellectual disability. Other childhood disorders, including conduct and elimination disorders, are also often included in this category, but they are not so here. For more information on those disorders, see the Other page.

The resources on the right are arranged by type: general collection books, eBooks, journal articles, videos, and websites.
