The Omaha Public Library Administrative Services Building has a Genealogy & Local History Room with many unique, Nebraska-related genealogical resources. They are a Family Search affiliate, provide Ancestry Library access, and are open to the public.

Research, reference & genealogy
(History Nebraska) History Nebraska collects, preserves, and opens to all, the histories we share. (Previously named the Nebraska State Historical Society.) They collect a wide variety of historical materials which may be used in compiling family histories, including: artifacts with strong Nebraska ties, art, books and periodicals, historical Objects, manuscripts, government Records, maps and architectural drawings, film, photographs & audiovisual material.

The Reference Room is open to all researchers on Fridays from 9am - 4pm, and is also available by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (the request form is on their website). They are located at 1500 R Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508.
