  • Scholarly vs popular articles
  • CRAAP Test: -- expand on all points
    • Currency: What is the publication date of your resource? Is it sufficiently current for your topic?
    • Relevance: Is the source relevant? Does it cover the topic adequately?
    • Authority: Investigate credentials of author(s) to determine their level of expertise/knowledge of the subject. 
    • Accuracy: Consider if information is accurate - can you verify the information?
    • Purpose: Consider the author's purpose in creating this source - does that affect its usefulness to your research?

Homework:

1. Assignment #4: Assess 5 sources and construct a mini annotated bibliography of the 2-3 most relevant sources, providing a summary and                evaluation of each source.
