Welcome to the Institutional Repository!

The Bellevue University Library’s Institutional Repository is a vehicle for curating and sharing your research, making it available to the global community and accessible worldwide. The purpose of the Open Access* institutional repository, maintained by the library, is to both preserve and disseminate the scholarship produced by you, our faculty, students, and staff: it is a showcase for your work, and can include article pre-prints and manuscripts, technical reports, conference proceedings, data sets, and software, as well as theses and dissertations. You may submit anything you feel is worthy, representative, and shareable.

Our aim at the Bellevue University Freeman/Lozier Library is to showcase your work and our university, collecting and presenting a comprehensive database of scholarly work from our faculty, students, and staff, accessible via Bellevue University Library’s centralized, managed digital platform.

Should I contribute to the Institutional Repository?

Yes!

Bellevue University Library's Institutional Repository is a vehicle for sharing your work, displaying your contribution to scholarly research from our faculty, students, and staff. The collection within our digital archive contains a variety of items, including:

  • abstracts
  • articles
  • creative works

Submissions are welcome from all members of the Bellevue University community, including faculty, students, and staff.

Note that the Institutional Repository is primarily digital. However, if you are interested in submitting a physical copy of your work to the university archives, please contact me.

Steps to contribute to the Institutional Repository

There is a simple, automated deposit process described here to submit your work to the digital archive. Follow these step-by-step instructions (walkthrough with this video, or download a printable document). If you are having trouble, need any help, or require other assistance, please contact me.

Step 1.  Navigate to the Institutional Repository Submission page.

Step 2.  Click on the CREATE DEPOSIT button in the top right corner. Select the Institutional Repository Submission Box.

Step 3.  Enter your item's

  • Title
  • Abstract or summary
  • Note(s), if desired

Step 4.  Drag and drop your file(s) to be deposited into the gray box. Alternatively, you may click directly on the gray box and select which file(s) to be uploaded.

Step 5.  Enter additional metadata details using the Metadata Submission Form. This ensures optimum findability of your item. Most fields are required. Click the button here to go directly to the form:

 

Step 6.  Select, display, and read the Terms and Conditions, then check the box to indicate your understanding and agreement of the terms.

Terms & Conditions:

By submitting the deposited item to the Institutional Repository you warrant that: 

  • The information you provided above is full and correct and that you are either the copyright holder of the deposited item or you are authorized by the copyright holder to submit the item to the Institutional Repository. 

  • The deposited Material doesn't violate any copyright law. 

By submitting the deposited item to the Institutional Repository you also agree to provide the Institutional Repository with perpetual, nonexclusive, non transferable right to take the necessary preservation actions to keep the deposited item accessible, including but not limited to conversion of the deposited material to other formats and making copies of the deposited material.

Step 7.  If you are ready to submit your deposit, press SUBMIT. Otherwise you may SAVE AS DRAFT and come back later to complete your submission.

You’re all set! 

You’ll receive an email with the status of your deposit upon submission. Then there will be a review process to ensure all elements are in order and metadata is accurate and complete. If more information is needed, you will receive another status update via email. You will receive a final email upon approval.
