Welcome to the eighth in a series of Hot Topics LibGuides. Conspiracy theories are attempts, often controversial, to explain aspects of the world or events, often in spite of scientific or historical evidence to the contrary. Amid the rise of misinformation in society, conspiracy theories have gained traction for their encompassing explanations and dramatic flair and can evolve into political rhetoric. This guide provides research and information related to various aspects of this topic. Resources include print and electronic books, subscription databases, and websites. Each print book title links directly to the library online catalog, each e-book and journal article title links directly to the full text. Databases are recommended that are particularly helpful for continuing research on the topic. Credible and relevant websites are also recommended.
