New Student Orientation: Academic Advising

Participating in online orientation is the first step to become a successful Bellevue University student. This guide will help ease your transition to BU by helping you become familiar with the services available to you!

Welcome to Academic Advising

The Student Coach role extends beyond course and program scheduling. Student Coaches can assist the student with many aspects of the academic experience and provide information regarding campus resources as needed.

Examples of the responsibilities of Student Coaches include but are not limited to:
Selection of educational program
Monitoring academic progress
Clarification of academic and institutional policies

Assistance with funding processes
Assistance with academic issues
Assistance with personal concerns
Navigation within the campus environment
Assistance with campus resource identification & utilization

How to Contact Your Student Coach/Advisor:

You can contact your Student Coach/Advisor by calling or emailing directly if you are already enrolled. To locate the name of your Student Coach/Advisor:

  • Log in to BRUIN.
  • From the "My BRUIN" Homepage, select the "Academic Progress" graphic tile.
  • Select "My BU Team" from the expanded menu which appears and your coach and financial counselor will be listed on the page
